When in 1911 the first slide Chromonica based on a 10 hole instrument was introduced by Hohner, nobody could foresee, how successful this concept even still hundred later would be. Based on this Ur-Chromatic by Hohner, the Chromonica 40 appeared to be fully developed in 1938 and is built that way with some minor modification ever since. During a period of always faster turning product cycles, this instrument appears as one backbone of the timeless Hohner inventions in the harmonica history of the last century
