Hohner Newcomer 2010 - Konstantin Reinfeld

The 14 year old schoolboy from Kempen (Rheinland) has only been playing harmonica for two years. Though he's always been musical and also plays piano and clarinet, his interest in the harp was awakened when harmonica player Michael Hirte won a national TV talent contest. He was given his first Hohner Blues Harp for Christmas 2008 and has never looked back since.

Within a very short time Konstantin taught himself how to play. Starting with folk, he soon moved on to blues, finding inspiration and encouragement as well as blues recordings and playalongs in the internet. He has now mastered overbends, further expanding his musical spectrum, and likes to play blues, jazz and Celtic music. His preferred models are Marine Band and Golden Melody.

During the Frankfurt Music Trade Fair 2010, Konstantin attended the 7th Frankfurt Blues Harp Meeting in Club Voltaire, where his first ever on-stage performance with a band generated quite a buzz. Later that year, Steve Baker invited him to attend the Harmonica Masters Workshops in Trossingen. There he showed himself fully able to hold his own with much older and more experienced players and shone both in the classes and on the session stage.

We are proud to present Konstantin as our HOHNER NEWCOMER 2010 and wish him every success with our instruments in future.
